Jess & Tom (Hertfordshire)
I met Jess and Tom for a pre-wedding site visit about a month before the wedding, I always do this so that I can start to think about what images may work best and what to do if it rains on the day. My site visits allow me to think creatively weeks before the actual wedding, doing this enhances the final results. Jess and Tom live in the beautiful Hertfordshire countryside and so interesting locations were in plentiful supply, in particular an old barn owned by one of their grandparents!
The wedding day had such a good feel about it, the church was particularly interesting, apparently the Queen Mother used to attend as it was located on part of the Crown Estate, the way the church was decorated was very tasteful! A group shot from the roof of the church after the ceremony was a bit precarious, I don’t like heights so was rather uncomfortable about being up there and then on my way down the spiral stairs I fell down the last four steps, luckily didn’t damage anything! The afternoon light was perfect, I love to shoot into the low sun and found a great little location where I asked Jess and Tom to practice their first dance, always a good time to get some lovely candid shots!
I felt so welcome, it was as if I was one of the guests!
